A Focus on the Philippines
After the recent devastation caused by Typhoon Haiyan EYFS wanted to dedicate this week to the topic of weather and the country of the Philippines.
All week long we have been working on various weather inspired activities. We also compared pictures of the Philippines with pictures of Thailand and found out that many geographical features are the same. We saw that the beaches looked similar in both countries and that they both have mountains and hills.
We learned about how it is important to protect ourselves from the weather conditions outside. When the sun is shining strongly we should wear a sun hat, sunglasses and put on sunscreen. When it is storming and there is lightning or thunder we should stay indoors. And what about rain? Well, rain is nothing to be afraid of and we learned that as long as we dry ourselves after coming inside from a rainy day we will be just fine!
