Next academic year 2014-2015, we are delighted to welcome 7 new members to our Samakee teaching team and they bring with them a variety of experiences, enthusiasm and expertise. Please click individual links to find out more. They are:
Adie Warrilow, who many of you may already know as “John’s mum”, has been a regular volunteer at Samakee and next year will be teaching Music at Samakee. Adie has taught music for a long time and in many countries including, England, The Netherlands, Brunei, Australia and now Thailand!
Alison Franklin joins our KS1 team and Year 2, originally from London, Alison is currently teaching Education for Sustainability in the forests, mangroves and villages of Northern Thailand but has also taught in the UK, USA, Tanzania and Ghana.
Balal Farooq will teach Year 7 Science and be a part of our KS1 team and class teacher in Year 2. Balal joins us from an International School in China, born and raised in the South of England, Balal is widely travelled and has taught across the age groups from KS1 to KS3.
Ben Weller joins Samakee in August as our new Inclusion Leader and Year 7 Mathematics teacher. Currently a teacher in London, Ben has taught Key Stages 1-4 and has extensive experience working with children who have a range of learning needs.
Emily Kay, originally from the UK, has been teaching in Thailand for 3 years and will teach our Year 6 class next year. Emily has taught across the age groups from Early Years to KS2 and is a keen environmental activist and campaigner for animal welfare.
James Haddell is a familiar face at Samakee and a regular volunteer and joins early years next year as our Kindergarten teacher. James grew up in south-east England and has taught in multicultural schools in east London, he is also Lily and Tom’s dad and Ms Rachel’s husband!
Peter Hockley is an experienced teacher from rural Buckinghamshire in England; Peter will teach Year 4 and brings a breadth of experience gained in the UK, Bermuda, Philippines and Thailand.
