We promise: Independent, confident, lifelong learners
During RAK week the children learned about Random acts of kindness and showing love to the people we care about. The children in FSS have been very busy learning all about what it means to love and care for each other and we have had some wonderful discussions in class about who we love.
After all this talk about love it was time for action and creativity. We created beautiful vase collages with flowers for our friends and in doing so practiced the sound v. We learned how to read and write the word love and played games comparing CAPITAL letters with lower case writing.
The children did an amazing job at this and we used our knowledge of these capital letters to look at some of Robert Indiana’s Artwork. Robert Indiana is probably best known for his Pop-Art and LOVE-Statues around the world. Indiana’s LOVE design has since been reproduced in a variety of formats for rendering in displays around the world. We really wanted to create our very own Pop art and found that using paint and some pre-cut letters this was not at all a difficult task!
Have a look at some of our Artwork in the photos below! Well done Red Dragons, you have really impressed me with your work and acts of kindness during RAK Week.
