No More Crocs!
Worn at the beach or the pool or for walking short distances with the family, we agree that Crocs are the perfect choice. Having said that, Crocs are not ideal for being active at school and at Samakee we have decided that after half term, children will no longer be allowed to wear Crocs at school.
To make sure that children are getting the right kind of support and protection for their growing feet, we believe that children need to wear different types of shoes and that the shoes worn must be appropriate for the activity they are engaged in. At school we want our children to be physically active and Crocs are just not suitable.
We believe that a sneaker type of shoe is needed for the support and foot protection that our children need to be active and safe in the playground and when playing sports. Laced sneakers for Middle and Upper School children are especially recommended.
We agree that in the hot weather, children should go bare foot some of the time and at Samakee we will continue to have a no shoes policy in all our school buildings to allow for this. Thank you for your support!
