Throughout the academic year we enjoy a wide range of enjoyable special events, sports activities and performances at Samakee. We are proud of what has been achieved and would like to share some of these with you.
Such impressive artwork produced by our whole school working in collaboration from EYFS to parents during our artist in residence visit by Zakaraya Zakarayev. Florence, Albert and William will take pride of place in the school lobby.
On Thursday, Middle School held their SMARTs showcase. The event was an opportunity for all children to show off their self-led home learning tasks, which are completed over a number of weeks. This week, we welcomed Doug Goodkin from the USA, for a two-day workshop entitled, What Matters in the Orff Approach? Doug Goodkin is an internationally recognised teacher of Orff Schulwerk, a dynamic humanistic approach to music education, training teachers in 45 countries worldwide.

On Monday 12th February 2018, the whole school celebrated Chinese New Year with an Assembly in the garden. Children, guests and staff joined in this colourful, noisy tradition, and everyone was encouraged to wear red, yellow or gold clothes to welcome in the Year of the Dog!
To celebrate our schools 'Britishness,' British Olympic Swimmer James Goddard visited Samakee on Friday and presented a fascinating assembly to Year 3 - 9 students who were intrigued by his experiences of being a former World Champion and British Olympic Swimming Finalist. We have been celebrating Earth Week at school and our theme this year was dirt! Everyone at school (teachers included) was involved in 'The Big Dig' at the TeePee Farm, and our objective was to plant more trees and create a mud pit for us all to play in.

A lovely cool breeze greeted us on Wednesday morning for First School Sports Day 2017, but a fresh spirit certainly could not be said of the atmosphere around the Samakee gardens. Movie Night took place on Friday 20th January, and it was a splendid evening! Mums and dads, teachers and teacher assistants, office staff, volunteers and domestic staff, all came together, to create an enjoyable evening for the children.
The provisions organised by volunteer parents were delicious and plentiful, without a doubt, contributing significantly to a hugely successful night....
What a fantastic Community Action Day! The KS2 students worked so hard to create their house arcades. The range and quality of games were incredible.
