Dear Samakee Community,

EDT – Education Trust Interim Feedback
The Education Development Trust (EDT) is an important UK organisation providing in-depth inspections, educational programmes and high-quality accreditation services in England and internationally, and we have worked closely with them for more than fourteen years. As I mentioned previously, on Thursday 12th and Friday 13th of May, we met virtually with our Education Consultant Pauline Barker from the Education Trust (EDT). The interim visit included lesson observations, meetings, and work scrutiny.

Last week, we received Pauline’s report, which was very positive about all she saw and about different aspects of the operation and management of the school. Here are some quotes from Pauline’s report:

Some Key and Direct Quotes
Teaching and learning across all phases of the school continues to be outstanding.

In the pre-recorded lessons observed during this interim visit, students’ behaviour was excellent and attitudes to learning highly positive.

What was observed strongly suggests that teaching and learning continues to be of high quality. It was a delight to see the range of learning experiences and students’ clear love of learning.

As ever, the school goes above and beyond to support student learning and ensure they make the best possible progress.

All the evidence provided suggests that the curriculum has continued to evolve and remains of the highest quality.

The curriculum has been skilfully adapted to support online learning. Tracking and monitoring of students’ progress has been rigorous, and interventions have rapidly been put in place when needed. Data would suggest that these measures have enabled students to make outstanding progress.

Samakee continues to recruit high quality staff and under normal circumstances the retention of staff is higher than typical for international schools.

Samakee continues to be a highly inclusive school, with an exceptionally nurturing ethos. Relationships between staff and students are very strong and results in every child being known well as an individual.

Care and support for students during phases of online learning and when returning to school was carefully considered and exceptionally well done.
