Dear Samakee Community,

Yesterday was a delightful return to school as we welcomed our students and parents back after the refreshing break.

Amidst the blazing heat we are facing, we must implement additional safety measures at school, safeguarding our children from the sun’s powerful rays. At playtime, it is tempting for children to rush outside, but at Samakee, we keep in mind that while a bit of sunshine is good, too much can cause heat illness. Our outdoor activities are, therefore, designed to balance fun with safety, ensuring the children enjoy shaded areas and stay hydrated. During intense heat, we take extra steps at school:

  • Outdoor play/activities are limited or cancelled.
  • Children stick to shady spots.
  • We promote regular fluid intake to keep everyone healthy and happy.

School Leaders and teachers plan and timetable outdoor activities and events with our Sun Policy in mind. For more information about these policies, please refer to our Weather Policies and procedures on the Samakee Website.

The following actions are standard prevention and response practices for all Outdoor Activities. During the school day, a message is sent to all staff indicating the level of caution needed. Thank you.

Enterprise Week!

In January, our middle schoolers truly embraced the Entrepreneurial Spirit during Enterprise Week! They showcased remarkable teamwork, creativity, and business sense while crafting and selling products. Their hard work paid off, yielding an impressive BHT6000, which they wisely decided to invest in playground equipment. Now, with the equipment in place, the children are enjoying the rewards of their labour during playtimes. Here’s to fostering future innovators and leaders!

Teaching and Learning Highlights!

EYFS – Literary Adventure

During Book Week, we set sail on a literary adventure, and our imaginations run wild! This little pirate is lost in the world of his imagination, inspired by the stories that ignite our creativity. Books are true gateways to endless possibilities!

Community Project

Cast your minds back to our Humanities Day… ‘What makes us Human?’ Our students and parents were asked to reflect on this and create identity themed hands, portraits, collages and material squares. A great community project – thank you to all involved.

Parent and Carers Questionnaire April 2024

We regularly ask parents to complete a questionnaire to help us reflect on the educational experience their child is receiving at Samakee. Your answers and comments help us identify the areas in which you feel we are doing well and those areas you think we need to work on further.

Thank you for filling in this survey and sharing your views on a wide range of issues that are important to us all.

Back-to-School Survey

Thank you to those families who have already let the school and teachers know their plans for the next academic year. We understand that it may be difficult for some families to know what the future holds. Nevertheless, whatever your plans may be or however uncertain they are at this time, we ask that you please take the time to complete this questionnaire based on your most likely expectations. Thank you.

SAS LINE Communication Platform

LINE is a widely used communication platform in Thailand, and it’s a platform that Samakee has been utilizing for quite some time. We encourage all our families to connect with our official SAS LINE account to ensure we can easily disseminate important school-wide updates to our entire school community.
