12th January 2024

Dear Samakee Community,

Welcome back! I hope you are doing well as we begin the exciting journey of a new term. We sincerely hope your holiday break was relaxed and enjoyable and you spent quality time with family and friends.

Many exciting events, engaging activities, and valuable learning opportunities are planned for students and parents throughout this term. We encourage you to actively participate in our school community, whether through volunteering, attending events, or joining in the many initiatives we have in store. Your continued support and involvement make our school an extraordinary place.

We wish you an excellent start to the new term and look forward to another fantastic chapter together!

Staff INSET Day

Inset stands for “in-service training”, Inset days are designed to provide compulsory professional development for teaching staff so that we can continue to improve our practice, keep up to date with changes in education, and ensure that we have appropriate training to deal with the challenges of our job.

We prepared for the new term on Monday with an INSET day and various training workshops for all staff focusing on student well-being and campus security.

We understand the importance of providing a safe learning environment for students and staff, and we take these measures very seriously with regular and thorough reviews of our security procedures.

Our security procedures involve collaboration with local authorities and emergency services and regular staff training to review our emergency response plans thoroughly.

To enhance security further, we are in the process of recruiting an additional security guard who will be located on the new football field.

We encourage parents and carers to maintain open communication with the school and to speak with a member of our Senior Leadership Team for any questions or concerns related to safety and security. Thank you.

What and when is the PTG (Parent Teacher Group) ?

Family Involvement is a long tradition and necessity at our school and is one of our greatest strengths. For those new to our school, we encourage you to get involved in the PTG and volunteer. Your ideas, time, and talents are needed, and your involvement is invaluable for our students. Whether your commitment is big or small, there is a place for you to volunteer!

The Samakee PTG welcomes and encourages all parents and teachers to actively participate in our school. You can attend our monthly meetings and volunteer your time, resources and abilities to make Samakee the best place it can be – for the sake of our children and their education.

Thank you to everyone who joined me this week to talk about events happening this term and to plan Movie Night. We look forward to our next Movie Night PTG Meeting this term on Thursday, 18th January, in the Fitness Room (Samakee Pool), and we hope you can join us.

Back to School

We’ve had a fantastic start to Term 2 at Samakee. It has been lovely to welcome back the hustle and bustle! The children have settled back into their classes and routines. We are looking forward to a great term together.

Lunchtime at Samakee

At Samakee, we believe that the school kitchen is at the heart of our vision. Our kitchen provides the fuel that powers young minds. Healthy, balanced meals are essential for our students’ growth and learning. Lunchtime isn’t just a time for eating; it’s a hub for our entire school community. A place where friendships and bonds are formed over a shared meal. It’s not just about nourishing bodies; it’s about nurturing connections and fostering a sense of togetherness. In our kitchen, we not only serve meals but also create memories and moments that last a lifetime.
