Dear Samakee Community,

In celebration of our recent Pi Day, Upper School students donated money to the teacher they would most like to see Pi’d at the end of the week. In total, over 11,600 THB was raised. Upper School students and the winning teacher, Ms Jip, discussed where they would like the money to go, and they decided upon the Thai Volunteer Service. Uno and Omo’s family donated cloth bags, and the selected items were bought. All Upper School students packed a bag and designed a letter or message that accompanied the bag. The bags were collected and are now in the hands of some very happy little people!!! Thank you, everyone!

 Science Competition Results

“For our recent science competition, students had to practice the scientific method and act as Young Scientists!

Each student identified a question that could be investigated by following the scientific method. Students designed and completed experiments to generate data to answer their questions. The students then created display boards, explaining their experiment and presenting their results and conclusions to a panel of judges. Students were rewarded for any highly original questions and for spending effort on decorating their display boards. Gold, silver and bronze medals were given to the highest scoring students in each year group

This year the response was fantastic, and many original investigations were produced covering many different topics in science. The quality of the presentations was also amazing, and our students showed real pride of ownership in their work. We hope next year’s competition will bring students together with ways to take their experiments even further.”
