15th December 2023

Dear Samakee Community,

This week, the school has been full of festive cheer, with children and teachers immersing themselves in Christmas and end-of-term activities, including two wonderfully successful productions – ‘The Mouse in Santa’s House’ and ‘Beauty IS the Beast’. As we eagerly anticipate the three-week winter holiday, I sincerely wish our school community an enjoyable, relaxing, and safe break.

Before you embark on your journeys to various holiday destinations, I’m sure you’ll join me in expressing heartfelt gratitude to our remarkable school staff – the dedicated teachers, teaching assistants, learning support assistants, and office teams. Their unwavering commitment and hard work have, without doubt, contributed to the smooth and successful term we’ve enjoyed!

May the upcoming holiday season be filled with joy, relaxation, and safety for our entire school community.

Wishing you a Christmas and New Year filled with warmth and happiness!

EYFS & KS1 Christmas Production – ‘The Mouse in Santa’s House’

We are delighted to share photos from this week’s highly successful Christmas production featuring our youngest children, Nursery – Year 2, who brought much enthusiasm and pure enjoyment to the stage. Their touching performances brought smiles and laughter to all who attended and made this production a memorable and heartwarming experience for everyone involved. We sincerely thank all the children and staff for their laughter,  hard work and effort.

Congratulations to Shakespeare House for emerging as the winners this term with a total of 5099 points, narrowly surpassing Einstein House by just 4 points!

We need your help and parent volunteers!

Join us on Thursday, January 11th, at 8:00 am as we seek volunteers to collaboratively organise the 2024 Movie Night for our community. Your participation is crucial in crafting a plan for this enjoyable event, ensuring it becomes a memorable experience that benefits all our students, parents, and staff. Please gather with us in the Pool Fitness Room, and let’s create an evening filled with fun. Thank you for being so willing to contribute!

Teaching and Learning Highlights!

Paint, Paint, I love paint!

Our little artist is creating a colourful masterpiece while singing along and making up a delightful version of “Paint paint, I love paint!”.

At Samakee, we enthusiastically encourage joy in creativity and treasure these special moments!

Picnic in the Park

Our students had a blast at Somdet Phra Srinakarin Park! They loved playing on the swings, slides and seesaws.

We shared a delightful picnic together, where both teachers and students enjoyed each other’s company and the beautiful outdoor setting.

A perfect day of laughter, play, and making memories!

KS1 – Slime Bubbles

Making slime bubbles is the current interest that KS1 children have developed independently at their slime making station. While filling the children with awe and wonder it also offers a multitude of educational benefits for young learners. Engaging in slime-making activities provides a hands-on, sensory experience that promotes fine motor skills development as children manipulate and mix the ingredients. This process also introduces basic scientific concepts, such as cause and effect, as students observe the transformation of individual components into a cohesive substance. Furthermore, making slime encourages creativity and imaginative play as children explore different colours, textures, and consistencies. The activity fosters collaboration and social skills as students work together, share ideas, and follow instructions.

Additionally, incorporating age-appropriate math concepts, such as measuring and counting, into the slime-making process adds an extra layer of educational value.

Middle School – Knitting Club

Knit and Knatter had a great run this term with all students finishing their products – wristbands and headbands. Can you believe that a few weeks ago these students did not know how to knit? Join us again next term if you are interested in knitting!

Upper School – Where in the World

Upper School students have been kept active with this ‘Where in the World’ board this half term! A new landmark goes up each day and on Friday answers are given in. Lots of fun with credits on offer for 5 correct entries!
