Dear Samakee Community,

Since November 1st, we have been gradually welcoming our children back to full-time school and face to face learning. On Monday 22nd, it will be the turn of Upper School to return full-time, and the school will then be fully open with all students back in the classrooms for face to face teaching. To make these plans possible, staff have worked incredibly hard to make changes to the organisation of our classrooms and environment to ensure our ‘Protective Bubbles’ remain intact. These changes now include two additional dining rooms for EYFS, KS1 and LKS2;  Year 5 – 9 will continue to eat in the hall in their ‘bubbles’, at different times with the same rules in place – one bubble at a time and  strict social distancing.
We wish you all a very happy Loy Krathong and don’t forget to make a wish when you float your Krathong!

Loy Krathong Fun!

With just three weeks of the term remaining, we are planning a range of physically distanced and hybrid Christmas activities to end the term, and we will let you know more about these plans in a future Newsletter.

As a reminder, here is the link to the Google Form for ATK test results; please write the date and your child’s name on the ‘test device’, take a photo and send it to school.  Test results should be sent on Sunday evening and Wednesday evening. Thank you!

TEACHING & LEARNING HIGHLIGHTS!

THE SCIENCE LAB
The students are finally back in the science lab. Our first topic must be training them in lab safety and how to use laboratory equipment. Our year 6 students have started by practising to light and use a bunsen burner safely, which is a skill they will need every year in science class.

WELCOME CHULA STUDENTS
We welcome two Music Education Chula students to our Samakee family. They will be with us for the next few months doing their final teaching practice. Here they are, already busy working with our youngest children at Samakee. We thank them for their contributions and hope they will be happy at Samakee.

We look forward to welcoming Upper School back to onsite learning five days a week, starting on Monday 22nd. Wishing you a pleasant weekend.

Kind regards,

Monica L Sudhirak
Head of School
