Dear Samakee Community,

Welcome back after the Songkran Break and I hope you all had a relaxing holiday!

INTERNATIONAL DAY

On Tuesday, members of the PTG met with me in the Music Room to begin planning Samakee International Day which is due to take place on Friday 5th May. Some discussion took place about the suitability of this date as Thursday 4th May is a Bank Holiday, however, we are hopeful that this will mean that lots of mums and dads can get involved and school will be open all day on Thursday for setting up “countries” and the related activities.

There will be a second International Day meeting next week on Tuesday 25th April at 8:30 in the Music Room; we will continue discussing details and plans for this special community event and I hope that you will be able to join us.

Thus far, here are the countries, festivals and special events we will be celebrating on International Day – but we do need more volunteers, ideas and suggestions. Can you help? Cinco de Mayo; The King’s Coronation with a UK style ‘Street Party’; USA; Brazil; Kenya & Uganda

As we approach the weekend, please be aware of the increase in Covid infections in and around the city following the Songkran celebrations, and stay safe. If your son or daughter has a fever, cough, runny nose and or headache, please take an ATK test before returning to school on Monday. Thank you.

I hope that you and your family have a relaxing weekend.

Kind regards,

Monica L Sudhirak
Head of School
