22nd September 2023
Dear Samakee Community,
What an exciting week in Middle School! We loved our Stay Late Event. There were so many fun filled activities; Balloon Car Racing, a Safari Escape Room, Wacky Races and House Challenges! The children participated well and enjoyed the unique events.
In the afternoon, the most anticipated event was the BBQ! Children enjoyed chicken and pork skewers and then devoured delicious campfire cones. They were oozing with gooey marshmallows and melted chocolate.
Today, we had an incredible time at Harborland. It was wonderful to see the children playing together and supporting each other to tackle the challenges
SAS_Parent Teacher Group Suggestions
We understand that each parent brings valuable perspectives and ideas that can greatly enhance the ongoing development of our school, and we are eager to collaborate with you. As a result, we extend an invitation for you to share your insights, thoughts, and suggestions regarding the future of St. Andrews Samakee. To streamline this process, we have created a Google Form (link provided above) and eagerly await your input. Furthermore, we are pleased to announce that our next PTG Coffee Morning is scheduled for Thursday, October 5th, at 8:00 am. We look forward to your participation and engagement.
Teaching and Learning Highlights!
HAPPINESS AT SAMAKEE
Discover the Magic of Happiness at Samakee! At Samakee, we believe in the power of happiness to light up young minds and foster a love for learning that lasts a lifetime.
KEY STAGE 1 PROCESS ART
In Key stage 1 we love using Process Art as an integral part of our enquiry based learning opportunities. Following the children’s interests in abstract art we added coloured glue to the art resources and modelled using this alongside watercolours to the children. Following this process, the children were free to access these resources and create their own style of colourful abstract art. What a fun art project!
UPPER SCHOOL INNOVATIVE SUCCESS
Working on new methods and new ideas is key to innovative success. Upper School students are encouraged to collaborate on these ideas.
LEARNING VOCABULARY THROUGH THAI LITERATURE
Students enjoy playing vocabulary games on Wordwall as it allows them to become familiar with and learn the meanings of new vocabulary.
‘In learning any language, vocabulary seems to be a major focal point of acquisition‘ (Asgari & Mustapha, 2011).
Upcoming Important Events
ARTIST OF THE WEEK
Artist of the Week. One of our students in Y5/6 takes the prize this week for his wonderful attitude and enthusiasm for Art.
Exercise isn’t just about physical strength; it’s about empowerment. Our students learn that they have the ability to set goals, work hard, and achieve them. Here’s to fostering a sense of accomplishment and positive self-esteem!
SAS LINE COMMUNICATION PLATFORM
LINE is a widely used communication platform in Thailand, and it’s a platform that Samakee has been utilizing for quite some time. We encourage all our families to connect with our official SAS LINE account to ensure we can easily disseminate important school-wide updates to our entire school community.
Sending warm wishes for a restful and enjoyable weekend to everyone!
Kind regards,
