8th December 2023

Dear Samakee Community,

As our First School production draws near, EYFS, Year 1 & 2 children are gearing up to present ‘The Mouse in Santa’s House’ at 9:00 am on Wednesday 13th December. This enchanting play unfolds the numerous tasks Santa undertakes in preparation for Christmas Day, from painting the sleigh to polishing boots and caring for the reindeer. The excitement builds as we wonder, who will come to Santa’s aid? Our youngest performers will breathe life into this delightful story, and we extend a warm invitation for you to join us at this charming event.

End of Term 1!

On Friday, December 15th, we will break up for the Winter Holiday, and on this last day of term, the school day will end at 13:00, and parents and carers children should collect at this earlier time. Thank you. Term two will begin on Tuesday, January 9th 2024.

We need your help and parent volunteers!

Movie Night, a much-loved family event organised by parent volunteers will take place shortly after the Winter Break on January 26th 2023, and we need your help!

On Movie Night, the school grounds are transformed into a cinema for an evening with children and parents enjoying their choice of three age-appropriate movies. Before the movies begin at nightfall, there are always some light snacks and games to enjoy, kindly organised by our PTG (Parent Teacher Group). Entrance is free, but children and adults need money to purchase coupons for games, food, and drink items.

Join us on Thursday, January 11th, at 8:00 am as we seek volunteers to collaboratively organise the 2024 Movie Night for our community. Your participation is crucial in crafting a plan for this enjoyable event, ensuring it becomes a memorable experience that benefits all our students, parents, and staff. Please gather with us in the Pool Fitness Room, and let’s create an evening filled with fun. Thank you for being so willing to contribute!

Celebrating the Magic of Christmas at Samakee Christmas Fair!

What a wonderful morning we had at our Family Christmas Fair! The beautiful sound of a classical band from The Music for Life Foundation set the stage for a memorable and festive occasion.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us in making this event a success. Your presence and enthusiasm added an extra layer of magic to our celebration.

No Sweets Policy in School

In addition to our ‘no nuts in school policy’, we also request that children, parents and carers not bring sweets, sugary snacks, or other junk food into school. Please speak with your child’s teacher for special occasions such as birthdays when some special treats may be allowed. Thank you. We appreciate your support.

Teaching and Learning Highlights!

Explore the Wonders of Learning at Samakee!

Samakee is not just a school; it’s a magical place filled with awe and wonder!

Here, we ignite and nurture children’s curiosity, turning every moment into an adventure of discovery. From captivating lessons to hands-on exploration, we believe in making learning an enchanting journey for every young mind.

At Samakee, we are a place where curiosity knows no bounds, and every day is a new opportunity to be amazed.

Year 3 – Under the Sea Assembly

This term in Year 3 our topic was ‘Under the Sea’. In our showcase assembly today we took a journey deep down into the ocean, exploring the different layers and what characteristics there are in each layer. We have also been learning about poetry and even performed a few poems in the assembly. We also showcased our art on the stage and a video montage of our residential trip to Sattahip. Finally, we sang and danced to ‘Yellow Submarine’ by the Beatles – we love this song!

Shakespeare House Event – King Pin Tournament

Well done to all of students for taking part in the first ever Samakee Kingpin Tournament! It was great to see you working together in your classes and earn points for your house! The children had a great time competing and playing in the arena.

Upper School – WOW Wall

At Samakee, we embrace and celebrate WOW moments. Artistic achievements take center stage on the vibrant WOW wall adjacent to the art room, showcasing the incredible work of students spanning from years 6 to 9. This term, these talented individuals have crafted truly remarkable pieces.

More than just a celebration of their successes, this display serves as a visual journey, illustrating the progress these students have made. It’s not only a source of inspiration for younger peers, visitors, and our dedicated staff but also a testament to the dedication and creativity of our students. Those whose work graces the WOW wall receive well-deserved credits, acknowledging their artistic excellence.
